Powell City Council unanimously approved the final development plan for Harper’s Pointe, a single family condominium gated community. The plan also was unanimously approved by the Planning & Zoning Commission on March 11, 2015.
Arlington Homes plans to construct 47 single family condominium homes on 8.75 acres off of Beech Ridge Drive. This site was home to the Powder Room Gun Shop & Target Range until last summer. As part of the development, a road will be built between Beech Ridge Drive and Grace Drive, providing additional connectivity for the community. This road will result in a new traffic light at the intersection of Grace Drive and Olentangy Street.
A construction schedule for the development has not been determined at this time.
The City of Powell is hosting the annual Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, May 25 in downtown Powell.
This year’s parade will feature more than 60 units and will begin on Grace Drive and follow west to N. Liberty Street. Participants will then travel south on Liberty Street to Olentangy Street, where they will turn right and continue west. The parade ends at the railroad crossing on Olentangy Street.
A ceremony will be held immediately following the parade at the Greater Powell Veterans Memorial in Village Green Park, 47 Hall Street. The program will include a presentation of the colors, a special brick dedication ceremony, remarks from Mayor Jim Hrivnak and a flag retirement ceremony led by Scout Troop 428.
