Discover Powell

Downtown PowellThere’s just something magical about the City of Powell. Maybe it’s the sense of tranquility you feel as you drive through the scenic Olentangy Valley countryside that leads to the heart of our quaint and lovely downtown. Perhaps it’s the way we conduct business by treating customers like longtime friends. Or maybe it’s how neighbors talk to one other, displaying the strong sense of community upon which our City is built.

Everything feels so warm and inviting, and somehow familiar. As you leisurely stroll through our historic downtown, you bask in the ambience of old-fashioned homes and antique shops intermingled with upscale restaurants and progressive businesses. Suddenly, it becomes very clear why you’ve been called here. Powell is welcoming you home.

Powell is proud to have been named a Tree City USA by The National Arbor Day Foundation for 11 years in a row. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.

To be considered as a Tree City USA, Powell had to meet four standards: to have an organized tree board or department, a tree care ordinance in place, a comprehensive community forestry program and an Arbor Day observance.

As a Tree City USA community, the trees our City plants and cares for today will cool and beautify our community, increase property values, help clean the air and water, and conserve energy for generations to come.

While we take great pride in our small-town hospitality, we don’t reserve it just for visitors. Our residents are treated to ample City services and conveniences, miles of walking and biking trails, access to eight award-winning parks, the choice between two top-notch school systems and thoughtfully planned neighborhoods.

Our business sector thrives within a community that supports its local artisans and merchants. And with nearly a dozen family-friendly events held here every year, we keep our streets lively and our businesses busy.

Stop by for a visit and see for yourself why Money magazine named us one of the best places to live in the U.S. You’re at home in Powell. Welcome Home.
