Leif Carlson

Leif Carlson began his Powell City Council term in January of 2024; he served on the Development Committee from 2024 to 2025 and currently chairs the Operations Committee and sits on the Finance Committee. He joined council with the aim of conducting discussions about how to best use the City’s tax revenue, from the 2021 restructuring, to benefit residents.

Leif is focused on the many projects, proposals, zoning changes and studies happening in Downtown Powell. From the excitement of the Bennett Farm purchase, a potential change for the Village Green, the Scioto Street Extension, and the future of the Powell Pool, there is much to consider and hear from constituents. He is also the Powell City Council representative to the Liberty Township/Powell YMCA advisory board.

Leif also aims to ensure all roads are improved to a good standard in the seven-year window proposed to residents after the 2021 tax restructuring through the Street Maintenance Program.

He owns and operates Technology Sales & Asset Recovery LLC, a reseller of new and used IT equipment; prior to founding his business he worked in a similar field for two other companies. Leif graduated from Walsh University with a BA in History.

He has lived in the Olentangy Ridge neighborhood since 2008 with his wife, Laurah, and son Gunnar. In the summer Leif coaches the Tangy Tornado Dive team at the Powell Pool.
