Current City Council, Board & Commission Openings

The City is always searching for residents in the City of Powell who have an interest in serving our community. Please visit our Board & Commissions page to learn more about the many opportunities to volunteer. The City currently has the following opportunities.

Planning and Zoning Commission - Seven members comprise the Planning and Zoning Commission. The members, appointed by City Council, serve four-year terms. The Planning and Zoning Commission makes recommendations to Council on a variety of development-related issues as well as amendments to Zoning Code. The Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Operations Committee - The Operations Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. to review and discuss operations of the City that impact residents and businesses of the City of Powell

Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council The seven member board consists of two members appointed by the Mayor, two members appointed by City Council, one member appointed by the Planning Commission, and two members appointed by majority consensus of the other five members of the board. The Housing Council reviews properties within the district for which an exemption has been granted under Section 3735.67 of the ORC and hears appeals under Section 3735.70 of the ORC.
