The Adventure Park pedestrian tunnel is now open to pedestrians following an extended closure to address safety concerns. The reopening restores a key connection between Adventure Park and downtown, allowing residents to once again walk safely from the park into the heart of downtown using this important pedestrian link.
Over the past several weeks, Public Service crews have completed numerous temporary improvements designed to restore safe and reliable access through the tunnel.
With these temporary measures in place, the tunnel reopens as the City works with the engineering design consultant on the permanent tunnel improvements that will provide a new tunnel liner, install new stormwater drainage facilities and shared use path.
The City appreciates the community’s patience during the closure and is pleased to restore this important pedestrian connection at Adventure Park. Due to the limited width in the tunnel, users on bicycles, e-bikes and other non-pedestrians please dismount as you travel through the tunnel.
Additional updates will be shared as further improvements are identified.
