The City of Powell’s Finance Department was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2024 Powell Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
Annually the City is required to produce the ACFR to provide an account of the City’s financials, but the GFOA award is only given to governments that go above and beyond minimum reporting requirements to display exceptional transparency and a “spirit of full disclosure” in their report.
The award highlights how well Powell informs residents of how funds are used to support the community.
“Receiving this award signifies our dedication to full transparency and responsible stewardship of public funds, ensuring our taxpayers have accurate and accessible financial information,” said Samantha Borchers, finance director. “We are excited to continue the momentum and maintain Powell’s high standards for financial reporting.”
