The City of Powell has taken another important step to enhance public safety with the installation of three new tornado sirens. Sirens have been placed at Arbor Ridge Park, Seldom Seen Park, and Home Road, expanding coverage for residents across the community.

The next phase of the project involves connecting each siren to power and integrating them into the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) system. Once this work is complete, the sirens will be fully operational. Although they will be owned and maintained by the City of Powell, they will function as part of the countywide EMA siren network.

As a reminder, Delaware County EMA conducts routine siren testing on the first Wednesday of each month at noon, weather permitting. These tests ensure the system is working properly and ready to sound during an emergency.
