The City of Powell's acquisition of a 32-acre farm has received the 2025 CoStar Impact Award for Redevelopment of the Year in Columbus, OH, as selected by an independent panel of local industry professionals.

Powell is being recognized for its strategic purchase of the 32-acre Bennett Farm property, a key piece of land located just east of downtown next to Arbor Ridge Park. The acquisition supports long-term planning and provides opportunities to enhance the City's park system while preserving the farm's history.

"The award is a testament to City Council's vision and collaboration that led to this transformative land purchase," said City Manager Andy White. "Acquiring Bennett Farm ensures that we can thoughtfully guide the future use of one of the last remaining large tracts of land for development in Powell. It reflects the City's commitment to smart growth and preserving what makes this community special."

The CoStar Impact Awards recognize commercial real estate transactions that significantly influence neighborhoods or submarkets across 129 major international markets. Winning transactions and projects – chosen for their impact on the vibrancy, economic activity, growth, diversification and innovation of their markets – were selected from a panel of more than 630 industry professionals drawn from each respective market.

The City is currently in the early stages of visioning of the site, seeking input from residents and stakeholders to shape a plan that balances preservation, accessibility, and future potential.

"This recognition reinforces that we're on the right path," said White. "We're excited to work with the community on what comes next for Bennett Farm."
